I attended a Remembrance Day service earlier this week at the personal care home where I work and got to share the experience with some of the veterans that I currently work with. One gentleman in particular, a WWII veteran, is very near and dear to my heart and I enjoy talking with him almost every day. Seeing the black and white photo of him in this uniform and getting to witness him partake in the laying of the wreath was truly an honor.
Working with and getting to know the residents is hands down the best part of my job and I am happy to be able to provide even a small service to the 4 veterans and many other wonderful seniors who have so many amazing stories to share.
Today I am thankful and today I remember. Let us all try and remain conscientious of the increasingly rare blessing we have to live freely and safely beyond November 11.
Have a wonderful week!
